Mental Health Counselor

 

Under general supervision, provides counseling and other mental health services to children and

their families in the Jasper County area. This includes case management and consultative services

to both the children and their families referred through the appropriate sources.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in human services or social

services program.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides a full range of mental health counseling services to children living in the

Jasper County area which also includes case management and consultative

services to both the children and their famililies referred through the appropriate sources.

 

Maintains medical records in compliance with QA, CARF, Coastal Empire MHC and SCDMH standards.

 

Attends treatment team staffing and interdisciplinary team staffings in order to

formulate/develop the most appropriate/effective treatment for assigned patients.

 

Provides requested education/training in the community or school setting. 

 

Attends training which include First-Aid, CPR and BEST.

 

Provides supervision for students internship program as needed or assigned.

 

 Adheres to relevant federal, state and local mandates, guidelines and requirements.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of

Student Services, Superintendent or other District Office Administrator as designated

by the Superintendent.
